Emily is an Associate in the Commercial Dispute Resolution team in London. She acts on behalf of domestic and international clients across broad range of sectors, in relation to a variety of corporate and commercial disputes.
Emily’s recent experience includes:
- Minister of Finance (Incorporated) and 1Malaysia Development Berhad v International Petroleum Investment Company and Aabar Investments PJs [2019] EWCA Civ 2080, advising the Malaysian Claimants on Commercial Court proceedings, to set aside a consent award and settlement agreements entered into by the previous Malaysian Government. This is part of the well-publicised 1MBD scandal, described as one of the greatest acts of global kleptocracy.
- advising an international industrials client in the aerospace sector in relation to supplier disputes
- advising a royal chartered body in relation to a corporate governance dispute
- advising and supporting an automotive client in respect of a regulatory investigation
- advising an international business process outsourcing client in a potential dispute with a supplier in relation to software licences
- advising an asset manager on a potential earn out dispute
