Lorenz Raess joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2020.
He advises clients on general corporate law matters, international and national M&A transactions, start-ups, succession planning, private equity and corporate restructurings. He also regularly publishes on corporate and arbitration law.
He completed his studies at the University of Fribourg (MLaw 2014) and gained further experience at the Regional Court of Bernese Jura–Seeland, an international law firm and in the tax and legal department of a Big Four accounting firm. He was admitted to the bar in the canton of Berne in 2017.
Lorenz wrote his doctoral thesis (Dr. iur., 2020, summa cum laude) on the taking of evidence in international arbitration at the Chair of Litigation (Civil Procedure and Debt Enforcement and Bankruptcy) and Private International Law of University of Fribourg under the supervision of Prof. Ramon Mabillard.
