Lindsey is a Principal Associate in the Financial Services Disputes and Investigations Group, specialising in banking, financial services and pension disputes.

Lindsey has extensive commercial litigation experience, having acted for a number of leading financial institutions on a wide range of issues, including fraud and asset recovery; professional negligence claims; breach of contract and/or misrepresentation claims, and regulatory enforcement proceedings. She is also experienced in alternative dispute resolution, particularly mediation, and regularly negotiates commercial settlements and has successfully mediated many disputes

Lindsey also has a broad range of pension litigation experience, including advising on employer funding disputes, representative proceedings seeking directions from the Court, Pension Ombudsman complaints and regulatory disputes involving the Pensions Regulator.

Lindsey is also a specialist in financial crime compliance, specifically anti-money laundering, fraud and anti-bribery and corruption, and regularly advises financial institutions and corporates on compliance issues.

Recent experience includes:

  • Acting on behalf of a representative beneficiary in a claim by the Trustee for mistake in relation to the scheme documentation
  • Advising a local council authority on its potential liability for overpayments made in relation to injury pensions under the Firefighters’ Pension Schemes.
  • Advising First Data, the principal employer of the FDR Limited Pension Scheme, in relation to the Part 8 claim by the Trustees concerning the correct application of an underpin in relation to increases to pensions in payment for an occupational pension scheme.
  • Advising the Trustees of the DLR Pension Scheme in relation to their claim against the scheme's employer for scheme deficit funding.
  • Acting as UK Counsel for the Unsecured Creditors Committee of Nortel Networks Inc , advising on all pension issues arising out of the Nortel insolvency
