Practice notes

Claire is a Principal Associate in the Human Resources Practice Group specialising in employment law. She undertakes a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment work and has completed several secondments with a large multi-national company.

Claire has advised clients in the public and private sector, including a number of clients in the financial services, media, healthcare and life sciences sector.

Claire qualified in 2003 and has experience of advising on and handling the resolution of many Tribunal claims including claims for unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, whistleblowing, breach of contract, sex, disability and race discrimination.

Claire's non-contentious experience includes advising on employee relations issues, investigations, dismissals, redundancy exercises, family friendly rights, the employment aspects of corporate transactions and outsourcing arrangements, disciplinary and grievance issues and restrictive covenants. She also advises on and prepares employment contracts, service agreements, employee policies, procedures and staff handbooks and advises clients on implementing changes to terms and conditions. Claire assists UK and overseas clients with UK employment advice as well as project managing and coordinating advice across a range of jurisdictions. Claire's contentious/non-contentious workload is approximately 70:30.

Claire presents regularly on a range of employment law issues, both for clients and on public courses.
