Practice notes

Anum is a principal associate in our corporate and commercial group. He handles a broad range of commercial matters related to Technology, Media and Telecommunication (TMT) and wider commercial arrangements including outsourcing, sale of goods and supply of services, contract manufacturing, standard terms and conditions, and ‘routes to market’ arrangements such as franchising, distribution and agency. Anum advises on employment and immigration matters as well.

His recent experience includes advising on a substantial contract drafting project for a major division of the Saudi Arabian government offering landline, mobile, internet service, enterprise digitation solutions, entertainment, fintech and computer networks services; a multinational logistics, supply chain, manufacturing and consultancy company in relation to a comprehensive data legislation mapping exercise; a multinational corporation specialized in luxury goods on privacy matters related to integration of new business systems into their global operations; one of the Big Five American multinational technology company, which focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence, on commercial and regulatory matters on a regular basis; the successful bidders in relation to solar and wind tenders including on all aspects relating to current KSA laws and regulations for the life-cycle of a renewable project; on an O&M contracts for a large PV solar project in KSA.

In addition, to the post graduate degree in law from University of Toronto, Anum holds a master’s degree in Economics. Anum has taught corporate law and allied subjects for almost a decade, publishes regularly on legal issues and has spoken at various panel discussions. Anum’s comments have been carried by the ‘Wall Street Journal’, ‘Bloomberg’, ‘The Lawyer’ and ‘The National’.
