Practice notes

Laura is a principal associate in our EHS (Environment Health and Safety) Team. She trained with Eversheds, and first joined the firm in 2002. She has also worked in house for a professional regulatory body.

Laura specialises in the defence of criminal regulatory matters, and her experience covers work relating to all areas of health and safety, food safety and licensing, road transport, contentious environmental cases and consumer protection, together with all other aspects of criminal law.

Since re-joining the firm in 2020 her recent experience includes: - project managing the delivery of multi-jurisdictional advice to a leading global provider of technology products in respect of Covid-19 procedures, - acting for an early years provider in respect of local authority proceedings following a non-accidental injury sustained by a child, and - advising a manufacturing client in respect of an HSE investigation following a workplace accident.

She is author of the food safety and licensing chapter of the Law Society Conveyancing Handbook and is regarded by Legal 500 as a key lawyer in both health and safety and licensing law. Laura is a Solicitor Advocate with rights of audience in the Higher Criminal Courts and is a member of the Health and Safety Lawyers Association.
