Practice notes

Rachel is a principal associate in our corporate education group. Rachel provides corporate and commercial advice to the education sector and specialises in advising education institutions on mergers and acquisitions, joint venture arrangements, corporate structures and constitutional and governance matters.

Her recent experience includes advising on the £760 million sale of the Apollo Education Group, including BPP Law School and the University of Phoenix and the subsequent restructure of the group, advising Capella Education Company on the sale of Arden University and advising Global University Systems on the acquisition of the University of Law. Rachel also advised Hult in their strategic alliance with Ashridge Business School.

Rachel has experience of advising on both national and international collaborative arrangements and joint ventures between Universities and private education providers, on equity fundraising by private education institutions and regularly provides governance advice to education institutions. Her recent experience includes advising the University of York on its joint venture with Kaplan and advising on the corporate re-structuring of a U.K. based group of boarding schools.
