Claire is a partner in our Commercial Dispute Resolution team in the London office, specialising in international arbitration and commercial litigation.

Claire represents and advises clients across a wide variety of commercial and investor-state disputes. Her experience encompasses arbitrations under International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), United National Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) rules. Claire has represented clients in industries ranging from renewable energy to hospitality. Claire is recognised as a “Future Leader” in arbitration by Who’s Who Legal.

Her arbitration experience includes:

  • representing the claimant in an investor-state arbitration against Kazakhstan relating to an oil and gas investment
  • representing a Fortune 100 company in relation to an ICDR arbitration and related foreign court proceedings concerning a dispute in the hospitality industry
  • representing an Italian investor in relating to an investment in a Baltic state
  • representing a Dutch investor in an ICSID arbitration relating to an infrastructure investment in Turkey
  • advising in relation to an LCIA arbitration and related injunction proceedings concerning an offshore wind farm project

Claire also advises on commercial and competition disputes before the court and tribunals of England and Wales. She has particular experience in competition litigation, having acted for both claimants and defendants in some of the largest and most complex competition disputes that have arisen in this area.

Her litigation experience includes:

  • representing a defendant airline in the long-running Emerald Supplies v. British Airways litigation in the English High Court relating to the air cargo industry
  • representing the claimants in the Emerson Electric v. Morgan Crucible litigation, relating to the carbon and graphite products cartel
  • advising a major high street bank in relation to disputes with its business customers
  • advising a central bank in relation to conflicts of laws issues

Claire is a barrister qualified in England and Wales. She was called to the Bar in 1999.
