Isabel Strecker is a Principal Associate in our Construction/Real Estate practice group in Dusseldorf.
Her activities cover all aspects of planning and construction law advice for real estate location and development, in particular in the area of large-scale retail, logistics and data-centres. She regularly provides advice on development planning procedures to local councils as well as to owners/investors. Her clients include land owners and local councils as well as asset managers, developers and investors. She regularly takes part in real estate as well as share transactions, being responsible for the planning and environmental legal due diligence.
Isabel studied law at the Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf and the Universidad de Jaén in Spain. Since 2009, she had been a lawyer with the law firm Grooterhorst & Partner which specialised in real estate law and became the Dusseldorf office of Eversheds Sutherland in August 2017.
Isabel's recent experience includes:
- Ongoing contractual and planning law advice to two real estate funds with an investment volume of over EUR 1.0 billion
- Ongoing planning law advice to the owner of a shopping center with more than 100,000 sqm. sales area
- Development planning procedure for the extension of a shopping center (including proceedings to obtain permission to deviate from a planning objective)
- Development plan for the restructuring and reorientation of a suburban retail park
- Repositioning of a shopping centre with several 10,000 sqm. retail area in the context of the existing planning law
- Assisting a development planning procedure to manage the retail development for the local council, representation of the council in court in actions filed by a neighbour against building permit
- Development planning procedure as regards the development of residential and commercial areas on a former marshalling yard with more than 90 hectares.
