Tord is a real estate and banking partner in our Stockholm office, continuously ranked by independent league tables for both practice areas.

Tord's career is defined by his pioneering work in relation to cross-border real estate financing and the establishment of foward funding transaction structures in the local Scandinavian market.   

He focuses on real estate transactions and financing. Tord also works with real estate law on a broader scope, comprising both leasing and construction matters.

He is also experienced in working with international acquisition financing in connection with both public and private M&A. Tord works regularly with general finance-related law, e.g., regulatory matters.

Tord has been practicing law since 2000. Prior to the legal career, he spent some five years as an international banker based in Frankfurt, Germany. 

Tord's recent experience include:

  • acting for international Investment Manager on the financing of its big ticket forward acquisition project in relation to a logistic hub located outside Stockholm (share deal with a German investment fund as investor) – one of the largest Swedish logistic center transactions structured as a forward transaction where we advised the client’s legal team in London on obtaining a complex hybrid construction/project finance on the SEK 1.8bn development. ES German and Lux offices involved, with transaction coordinated from the Stockholm office
  • acting for leading London based Real Estate financing institution on the acquisition financing in relation to a Swedish multitenant logistics asset located in Malmö, Sweden (share deal with a US investment fund as investor and borrower)
  • regularly advised local Scandinavian Investment Manager on forward sales of development projects, including student housing, regular housing/BTR, mixed commercial use and elderly/care homes (total deal value exceeding SEK 2bn)
  • advising Global Investment Manager on cross-border acquisition financing in relation to the acquisition of a fully let retail asset located just south of Stockholm. Eversheds Sutherland Sweden and Germany worked together on the cross-border financing project. (Transaction value SEK 435m)
  • advised Global Investment Manager on its big ticket senior long term financing of a Stockholm trophy asset, valued at some SEK 2 bn. Financing sourced in Germany (with Swedish bank SEB, EUR 100m)
  • acting for >10 major global corporates and financial insitutions in relation to head office leasing acquisitions in the Swedish market
  • acting for US based global company group on the establishment of its Swedish operations, including head office lease acquisitions and six development land acquisitions, including construction contracts etc
  • acting for market leading US corporation in relation to a number of acquisitions of Swedish development land, including land acquisitions, development, power supply, zoning, etc
  • Tord’s departments have the following rankings in Legal500: Banking & Finance (Tier 2), Real Estate (Tier 3) and Fintech (Tier 3)
