Chloe is a Principal Associate, advising on Employment Law.
Chloe originally trained as a barrister and was called to the bar in 2012, having graduated in 1st place in her cohort at bar school and having received the Harmsworth Major Scholarship from her Inn of Court, before cross qualifying to become a solicitor in 2016. In light of this, Chloe has a strong litigation practice and regularly represents businesses in the Employment Tribunal at both Preliminary and Final Hearings all over the United Kingdom. Chloe also has extensive experience negotiating the settlement of tribunal claims at all stages and also represents her clients at judicial mediation.
Chloe has a wealth of experience acting for both Respondents and previously Claimants in Tribunal litigation, including claims for unfair dismissal, all types of discrimination and whistleblowing. Chloe has significant experience in litigating class actions.
Chloe’s clients say she is “impressive to watch in the Tribunal”, “achieves great results” and is a “calming influence”.
In addition to her Employment Tribunal work, Chloe provides employment law and human resources advice and training to businesses, for example Chloe:
- regularly advises on a variety of complex disciplinary, appeal and grievances processes, providing hands on support to her clients throughout;
- provides advise and support to businesses in large scale redundancy situations and change projects;
- manages international projects involving counsel in multiple jurisdictions;
- provides assistance and support to businesses in receipt of complicated flexible working requests and sensitive disclosures from whistle-blowers;
- advises on a variety of contract and handbook reviews for various types of engagements;
- negotiates senior executive terminations and drafts accompanying settlement agreements; and
- delivers a broad range of training to clients on: fairly dismissing, discrimination in practice (with a focus on sexual harassment and disability discrimination), employment law updates and undertakes mock tribunals to simulate the Tribunal process for employees
Chloe has also spent a year on secondment to a global tech company, acting as in-house counsel and therefore truly understands client needs.
