William handles a broad range of disputes for financial institutions, including secured debt recovery claims on behalf of major lenders, issues relating to historic mortgage accounts and mis-selling claims.
He advises financial services clients on responding to business as usual (BAU) litigation, including claims relating to the operation of mortgage, bank and credit card accounts, s.75 Consumer Credit Act 1974 and data breach claims. William has also advised clients in relation to financial crime topics including anti-bribery and corruption, failure to prevent facilitation of tax evasion and the Economic Crime Levy. He has provided training on the incoming Failure to Prevent Fraud offence.
William has assisted in the defense of a multimillion-pound claim in relation to the Quincecare duty and dishonest assistance claim, claims relating to money laundering and fraud allegations, and responding to an undue influence defense in relation to a claim for possession. He also undertakes pro bono work through the Law Works Cardiff Lawyers Care initiative.
