Matthias is an Associate in the Commercial practice group of Eversheds Sutherland in Hamburg.

His expertise encompasses all areas of IT and data protection law, in particular advising on the contractual aspects of technology transfers, software licencing and FinTech implementation (blockchain, DLT and innovative financial technologies).

Matthias studied law at Westfälische Wilhelms University of Münster and Universidade de Lisboa. He took a master's course focusing on cyber law (LL.M.) at La Trobe University Melbourne which he completed with distinction. During his legal traineeship, he worked as a research assistant in a large international law firm in Hamburg in the areas of IP, IT and data protection and completed a stint in Cape Town.

Matthias was admitted to the bar in 2021 and has since then worked for Eversheds Sutherland.

National and international corporations of the IT, banking and financial sectors count among his clients.
