Deepesh is a Partner in our London tax team. He has significant experience on advising on a broad range of corporate and finance tax matters.

Deepesh is a dedicated finance tax specialist. He regularly provides tax structuring and transactional advice in respect of a range of financing types, financial products, debt capital market matters and restructurings relating to a variety of underlying asset classes and commonly on a cross-border basis.

Deepesh’s recent experience includes: advising a Singaporean fund on the UK and cross-border tax aspects of the acquisition, structuring and financing of a £282m property portfolio; advising a leading litigation funder on the tax aspects of its innovative funding arrangements; advising a leading life insurer on the tax aspects of the funding and development of an equity release mortgage product (with an initial launch of £500m); advising a Canadian listed company on the tax aspects of its circa £2.1bn acquisition and DCM funding of a large UK business; advising on the tax aspects of the investment in and financing of the £16bn development of a nuclear power plant; advising a US listed fund management group on the cross-border tax aspects of secondary debt investments made across Europe; advising a range of clients on the tax aspects of various forms of financing (loans, bonds, Islamic finance etc) provided to fund significant real estate investment and development projects often on a cross-border basis; and advising on numerous types of debt portfolio transactions and subsequent securitisations of these portfolios.

As a sector expert, Deepesh feeds into HMRC consultations and joins working parties to help shape changes in law affecting the sector. He has contributed to tax textbooks and written articles, commentaries and practice notes for major publications.
