Practice notes

Lars is senior associate at the litigation and dispute management group. He advises on liability and insurance law, with a focus on professional liability and insurance coverage disputes.

Lars advises both insurers and insureds (such as directors and officers, accountants and attorneys), and litigates before civil courts and in arbitration proceedings. Lars started his career as a lawyer in 2014 at a major Dutch law firm.

Lars’ recent experience includes: representing the directors and officers of a formerly listed company in a mayor D&O insurance claim, advising accountants of multiple Big 4 accountancy firms in civil liability and disciplinary law claims, and litigating on behalf of a Dutch law firm in arbitration proceedings to obtain insurance coverage.

Lars studied at Columbia Law School in New York in 2012 and received two master degrees at the University of Amsterdam in 2014. Lars subsequently followed the Grotius Academy post-graduation course ‘Onderneming en Aansprakelijkheid’ as well as the post-graduation course ‘Leergang Verzekeringsrecht’

Lars regularly publishes articles in legal journals. Lars furthermore teaches at the Law Firm School.
