Practice notes

Eline is a senior associate in our Commercial and Competition, EU and Trade group. She has over ten years of experience in the field of competition and commercial law, with a focus on the health and life sciences industry and consumer/food/retail sector.

Eline advises and represents clients in relation to cartels, joint ventures and other forms of collaborations, vertical relationships (under which agency and distribution), abuse of dominance and merger control. She also regularly advises clients on the regulatory and commercial aspects of the development, manufacturing, distribution and sales of medicinal products and medical devices, food and consumer products, and has vast experience in commercial contracting work.

Her recent experience includes: successfully defending a multinational player in the food additives industry in an ICC arbitration in relation to a distribution dispute – the multimillion claim was dismissed in full, which allowed the client to optimize its distribution strategy and to increase sales in a very large region; assisting an on-demand delivery service with rolling out its business model in the Netherlands, thereby in particular advising on the commercial and regulatory aspects of the sales of food and medicinal products – serving as an extension of the client’s legal service during its rapid expansion in a new market; performing a competition law audit/dawn raid training for a large player in the cement industry, which industry is prone to competition law issues – identifying risks and helping the client to improve its compliance framework and policies to minimize these risks.
