Eileen is a Senior Associate in our Commercial Litigation and Dispute Management group described as “incredibly legally astute” in Legal 500.
She specialises in media litigation, working with clients in the media, entertainment and sports sectors to bring and defend claims in libel, defamation, privacy and breach of confidence, copyright, trade mark, passing off and false endorsement.
She provides data protection and freedom of information advice to clients receiving Subject Access Requests and public authorities receiving Freedom of Information act requests. She trains journalists on the application for journalism, art and literature of the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
She provides advice on compliance with regulatory regimes monitored by OFCOM, the Advertising Standards Authority and the Information Commissioner’s Office.
She provides pre-publication advice to journalists and editorial teams at newspaper and magazine publisher-, broadcaster- and film clients.
She has a particular interest in advising web publishers on their liability for user-generated content, developed during her role as sole legal counsel to the internet consumer champion MoneySavingExpert.com.
Eileen is a regulator contributor the Entertainment Law Review, published by Sweet & Maxwell and provides client training seminars.
