Practice notes

Faris is a bilingual senior associate in our company commercial group. His experience is heavily diversified as he specialises in commercial, private equity and M&A deals as well as local and cross border transactions. Faris provides assistance on project finance transactions including various aspects of public-private partnership deals. He also provides commercial advice to clients in various sectors including healthcare, education, technology and energy. Prior to joining our firm, Faris worked as an associate for a prominent law firm in their Dubai and Riyadh based offices.

His recent experience includes: advising on the acquisition of a major online food ordering network on the reorganisation of its subsidiaries in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and Jordan – this deal was awarded “Turkey Deal of the Year” at the 2017 IFN Awards and “Europe Deal of the Year” at the 2016 Europe Middle East & Africa M&A Atlas Awards - advising on the acquisition of 100% of the share capital of a leading regional food & beverage distribution company using Cayman Islands, DIFC and investment fund structures – advising a major investment corporation in Kuwait on in its acquisition of a minority stake in a Pharmaceutical Company in Saudi Arabia - advising a leading regional private equity group, on various acquisitions and structuring of the acquisition in the Middle East – advising multiple consortiums and developers on solar projects in Jordan – advising a major global hospital operator on various regulatory issues – advising a regional private equity group on the full acquisition of private schools in Saudi Arabia.

Faris has written articles on the PPP sector, banking sector and the legal updates in relation to the Saudi Arabian Vision 2030 initiative for multiple magazines including the Islamic Finance News. He obtained his LLB and LLM from the University of Kent. He is a member of the Jordanian Bar Association.
