Practice notes

Paula is Co-lead of Global Cybersecurity and Privacy Practice and specialises in data protection and cybersecurity as her full time practice area. She is ranked in Chambers and Legal 500 as an expert in this field.

Based in London, Paula has been practising in the area for over 20 years with much of her work being international. Paula and team are currently leading multiple projects for global clients, helping them to interpret new and existing data protection and cyber security laws, operationalising their application and implementing a strategy for compliance globally. Paula’s background in technology law makes her well placed to help clients interpret the application of data protection and cyber security laws in the digital environment within emerging technologies and new product development and explore new opportunities. Whether its AI or other analytical tools, IOT and autonomous vehicles or blockchain and advanced security technology.

Paula is also credited for her cybersecurity work and supporting clients to prepare, prevent and respond in the context of breaches. Her experience includes advising on multi-jurisdictional breach incidents, high profile breach investigations, GDPR supervisory assessments/audits, assisting clients to manage their responses, coordinate with multiple agencies and stakeholders, and manage potential claims and damage to reputation.
