Lara is an Associate in our Company Commercial practice group, specialising in both procurement law and commercial contracts. She has comprehensive knowledge of both procurement and commercial law issues and her expertise includes advising on major projects for public sector bodies and private sector clients across numerous sectors including transport, regeneration and IT.

Lara's experience includes:

  • advising public bodies in relation to their procurement strategies, including reviewing and commenting on documents such as OJEU notices, invitations to tender and standstill letters;
  • advising public bodies on the risks associated with making substantial modifications to procured framework agreements and contracts;
  • advising public bodies on procurement and commercial issues such as lotting and non-compliant bids;
  • drafting various commercial documents for a university as part of its £1.5bn mixed use commercial regeneration scheme;
  • acting as part of the commercial team reviewing numerous commercial contracts for a major rail project;
  • advising on force majeure and termination in light of the COVID-19 pandemic; and
  • advising a local pro bono client in relation to various strategic commercial contracts.

Lara also has experience working in house and is used to working collaboratively with in house legal teams, key stakeholders and relevant third parties.
