Practice notes

Joanne is a Principal Associate in Eversheds Sutherland’s Commercial team. She advises clients in relation to complex IT projects and major outsourcing contracts in both public and private sectors, and also has experience of wider ICT / general commercial work. Her role involves advising, drafting and negotiating contractual documentation for both supplier and customer clients and managing the delivery of projects through to completion.

On the public sector side Joanne’s role includes advising in relation to the public procurement aspects, where she provides risk based advice and strategies for avoiding challenges during procurement processes.

Joanne's recent public sector experience includes advising: the Department of Health in relation to its Ambulance Radio Programme (“ARP”); Highways England in relation to various major projects including its National Roadside Telecommunications System (“NRTSii”) and Dartford ‘Free-Flow” Charging (“DFFC”) projects and its ICT service ‘towers’ project; General Authority of Zakat and Tax in Saudi Arabia on the procurement of an ICT based solution to improve tax collection in Saudi Arabia by the use of digital and physical markers on imported project; a group of seven leading banks in Hong Kong in relation to the procurement of a trade finance platform using distributed ledger technology (blockchain); HMRC on its restructuring of its major ICT contract with Capgemini, which is the largest Government IT outsourcing project with an overall contract value in excess of £10billion. In the private sector, Joanne has recently advised in relation to an ICT outsourcing project, system and services supply agreement and an ICT based collaboration agreement.

Joanne worked with representatives of Capital One and Ikano to write, pilot and deliver “Cheese Matters", a financial management training programme for pupils aged 14-15.

Joanne was on secondment to our Hong Kong office August 2017 to September 2018.
