Stefanie is a Partner in the Real Estate practice group in the Hamburg office of Eversheds Sutherland.

Stefanie has more than 18 years' experience in consulting German and international investors on domestic and cross-border real estate transactions of any kind of real estate as well as in matters regarding investment law concerning the launch and administration of (open-end) real estate funds.

Her range of activities covers all aspects of commercial real estate transactions (individual and portfolio transactions), in particular contract drafting, purchase contract negotiations, structuring and carrying out due diligence procedures as well as the processing of complex transactions. Consulting capital management companies and asset managers in matters regarding investment law developed as a further focus of her work.

Stefanie studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg and Freiburg i. Br., Germany. Before joining Eversheds Sutherland she had been working for Latham & Watkins for 18 years and before that for Clifford Chance in the area of real estate.

Stefanie has been recommended for several years as a leading expert in real estate law (Handelsblatt/Best Lawyers, Chambers Europe, JUVE Handbook, Legal 500 Germany). Chambers Europe 2017 ranks her among the “leading names” in real estate and commends her “strong negotiation skills and commercial thinking” (Chambers Europe 2016). In JUVE Handbook she is also “regularly praised by competitors and clients for her skillful way of negotiating” (JUVE Handbook 2018). Clients, furthermore, emphasize her know-how in investment law (JUVE Handbook 2017) and commend her as “highly qualified on a professional level” (JUVE Handbook 2014). Stefanie “combines quality and service” a client says JUVE Handbook in its 2016 edition. “She provides a very high level of legal services and at the same time remains a very down-to-earth person”, a client says in Chambers Europe 2015. Stefanie’s name together with her former law firm is ranked among the 25 top law firms for real estate law in 2014 (Wirtschaftswoche expert panel).

Stefanie's recent experience includes advising:

  • ­Bouwfonds in investment law matters regarding the acquisition of a portfolio of car parks in France, the Netherlands, Spain, England and Germany
  • an institutional investor on the acquisition of a commercial real estate package with 34 office and retail properties in Germany and Austria
  • Catella Real Estate AG regarding the purchase of a number of residential real properties
  • an institutional investor on the acquisition and sale of logistics and office properties
  • an institutional investor on the acquisition of a portfolio of 20 specialist stores in Germany
  • an institutional investor on the acquisition and sale of a number of retail centres
