Kathrin works as a senior associate in the area Commercial/IP/IT at Eversheds Sutherland in Munich.

Her area of expertise includes legal consultation of international companies in all aspects of commercial contracting. intellectual property law, including competition law, copyright law and trademark law, as well as in IT law. Furthermore, Kathrin advises companies in questions regarding data protection law.

Her clients are mainly international companies of the industrial, life science and entertainment sector, as well as manufacturers and distributors of consumer goods. Kathrin has also extensive experience representing clients in court proceedings with regards to IP infringement cases.

Kathrin is a member of the German Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (Deutsche Vereinigung für gewerblichen Rechtsschutz und Urheberrecht, GRUR) and the German-American Lawyers’ Association (Deutsch-Amerikanische Juristenvereinigung, DAJV).

Kathrin studied law and earned an additional degree in economics at the University of Bayreuth. After graduation in 2006, she pursued her LL.M.-studies at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City while earning her doctoral degree (Dr. jur.) in the field of antitrust and sports laws. During the four years that Kathrin spent in the United States, she also worked at a national US law firm specializing in toxic torts defense litigation and in the firm’s sport’s agency assisting in international legal matters. Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, Kathrin worked at a German boutique law firm in the field of Commercial and Intellectual Property law with a focus on life sciences. Kathrin is admitted to the bar in Germany and also as an attorney-at-law to practice in the State of New York, USA, as well as before the United States District Court of the Southern District of New York. Kathrin joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2016.

Kathrin’s recent experience includes advising:

  • An international distributor of consumer products on data protection law issues
  • An international company in the food industry regarding distribution agreements
  • A British company in the marine industry during contract negotiations for offshore wind parks
