Practice notes

Laura-Beth is a Principal Associate in the Planning and Infrastructure Consenting team based in Nottingham and acts for developers, landowners and local authorities in relation to all aspects of planning law and practice.

Laura-Beth is heavily involved in major development projects, including applications for nationally significant infrastructure projects ("NSIPs"). She has dealt with three approved Development Consent Orders comprising two strategic rail freight interchanges and a new harbour, all for major developers. She is currently advising on further NSIP applications relating to major infrastructure projects. The promotion of large infrastructure projects by way of Development Consent Orders is a relatively recent consenting regime. Laura-Beth's already extensive experience in that field means that she is extremely well placed to advise on such schemes. She is one of a select number of lawyers who have experience in the field.

Laura-Beth is also routinely instructed by national developers of both residential/mixed use and commercial schemes to draft and negotiate complex Section 106 Agreements/Unilateral Undertakings and Infrastructure Agreements.

Laura-Beth's recent experience includes acting for promotors of various warehousing and logistics schemes. Other recent experience includes acting for national housebuilders in drafting and negotiating complex Section 106 Agreements and associated deeds for mixed use developments, a Compulsory Purchase Order for a Retail Park in Biggleswade and advising on all elements of the York Potash Project including an application for a new potash mine in North Yorkshire, a 36km tunnel to Teesside, associated materials handling facility and an application for a development consent order for new harbour facilities.
