Nuala is a Consultant in our Construction & Projects team.

She has extensive experience in advising public and private sector clients on a range of contractual and legal issues within the spheres of construction and procurement law. Nuala has experience of advising on various forms of construction and engineering contracts including JCT, FIDIC, NEC and RIAI and related contracts such as collateral warranties and joint venture agreements for real estate developments.

In addition to major infrastructure and projects work, Nuala has advised on numerous commercial contracts including drafting and negotiating contracts for the supply of a range of goods and services including IT and health products.

Nuala’s recent experience includes:

• Acting for a developer in relation to the construction and progression of a large office scheme in Belfast which included the negotiation of the development financing.

• Acting for an Irish residential house builder in relation to the construction and development of a number of building schemes.

• Advising a joint venture in relation to the development and construction of a large student housing complex in Belfast.

• Acting as lead adviser to a large public sector organisation in relation to the procurement of a number of major IT contracts. This involved providing procurement and related advice on the commercial contracts from the conception through to the award of the contracts, using various procurement procedures.

• Advising a large public sector organisation on major construction projects which included issues in relation to contractual interpretation and other disputes.

• Acting for social housing client in the defence of a procurement proceedings brought by an unsuccessful tenderer. This involved advising the client on any issues with its tender procedure and evaluation.

• Acting for a dental manufacturer in developing and negotiating a commercial contract for the provision of a dental solution which is new to the UK market and represents a major source of revenue for the client.
