Shalagh is a Partner in the Litigation and Dispute Management team in the Middle East. She joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2005 and has worked for three Eversheds offices in Newcastle Upon Tyne, Qatar and Dubai (where she is now based). She now works across the Dubai and Qatar offices on a wide range of contentious matters.

Shalagh’s practice centres around international construction disputes (arbitration and litigation). She also advises on commercial disputes, contract interpretation and dispute management/ avoidance across the region.

Shalagh has worked on a number of domestic and international arbitrations. Her recent experience includes: (i) defending a blue chip energy company in DIFC-LCIA construction arbitration proceedings (delay, disruption and liquidated damages) in relation to a project in Iraq. The claim is valued at USD 18,000,000 and will be resolved under English law, seated in Dubai; (ii) representing a Spanish water plant manufacturer in ICC arbitration proceedings as Claimant. The dispute will be resolved under English law, seated in Qatar and is valued at USD 20,000,000 (delay, disruption, acceleration), (iii) representing a Qatari government entity in a USD 50 million ICC Qatari law/ seated dispute with a sub-contractor on a Polysilicon plant; (iv) representing a Malaysian subcontractor in multimillion USD ICC proceedings brought by a Singaporean entity related Salwa Road in Qatar.

Shalagh also has a extensive experience of court disputes in the region (including the local courts having worked "hand in hand" with advocates on court proceedings, the QFC Court and the DIFC Court). This includes working on Court of First Instance, Court of Appeal, Court of Cassation and Enforcement proceedings and advising the client of the best way of managing such proceedings in a cost effective manner.

Shalagh also regularly works with Counsel in the region with experience in Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman.

Shalagh is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales. She is also one of the few associates listed in Chambers and is known for her pragmatic, straightforward approach towards complicated matters.
