Conall is a partner in our construction and projects group and specialises in construction, development and infrastructure law. He advises and acts for a wide range of clients which includes developers, institutional and private investors, funders and banks, contractors, operators, utilities and state entities across several sectors including complex projects and transactions in real estate development and investment (commercial, retail, residential, hotel, industrial and logistics), infrastructure, energy and utilities. He also provides clients with strategic mid-stream advice on construction projects with respect to project restructurings and matters such as variations and contractual claims (time and money).
Conall has experience of advising on various forms of construction and engineering contracts including RIAI, JCT, FIDIC, NEC and MF1 and advises on bespoke forms of contract such as complex development agreements (including funding agreements) and joint ventures agreements for real estate developments.

Examples of Conall’s recent experience include:
- Acting for one of Ireland’s leading residential developers in relation to the construction and development of a large multi-block residential apartment scheme in Dublin which included the negotiation of the development financing of circa of €150 million.
- Acting for an international technology company regarding the construction and development of its large multi-block commercial office campus in Dublin.
- Acted for a leading Irish real estate developer in relation to a complex property joint venture with an international private equity fund for the acquisition of a land bank (for circa €200 million) and development of large scale residential and commercial scheme.
- Acted for a PLC property investor in relation to a project restructuring (which was mid-stream construction) in respect of a forward funding development structure. Guided the investor through the step-in and project takeover process and negotiated with the developer, contractor and project consultants to enable the step-in event and take-over. Post take-over the investor completed the project and it was successfully monetised.
- Advising a large wholesaler in relation to the development and construction of a logistics facility (with complex automation components) in Ireland.
- Providing mid-stream advice to state authorities in respect of PPP projects which relate to issues including variations, time and money claims.
- Acted for an Irish residential house builder PLC in relation to the construction and development of a number of housing and apartment schemes.
