Andrew is a senior associate in our Human Resources practice group experienced in contentious employment and labour law. He works across practice areas including Public, Education, Diversified Industries, Energy and Infrastructure and Transport, with clients that include local authorities, further and higher education institutions, schools, academies and private education providers, utility companies, nuclear and energy, aviation and construction.

He has experience in preparing and conducting employment tribunal cases. Andrew has been appearing in the Employment Tribunal since 2001 and has conducted full merits hearings and has appeared before the Employment Appeal Tribunal. He has conducted the advocacy in cases ranging from 10 day complicated whistleblowing, discrimination and TUPE cases to one day unfair dismissal claims.

He also advises on a full range of non-contentious employment matters including complex disciplinary and grievance issues, discrimination, TUPE within the public and private sector, Trade Union matters, whistleblowing and agency workers. Andrew is experienced in drafting and amending employment documentation including, service agreements, contracts of employment, staff handbooks, casual workers agreements, sub-contractor agreements and terms for and with employment businesses.

Andrew has particular experience and interest in National Minimum Wage compliance and supports clients in carrying out self-reviews and in dealing with HMRC investigations on those issues.

Andrew presents at seminars, briefings and bespoke training sessions on a variety of employment law topics.

Andrew qualified as a solicitor in February 2013.
