Practice notes
Emma is an associate in our dispute management and litigation practice group. She specialises in construction and engineering and handles a broad range of both non-contentious work and disputes for a variety of clients. Emma is developing a particular specialism in the Senior Living development sector.
After training and qualifying in the UK, Emma spent several years practising in the Middle East and has experience advising on a range of procurement models and contracts across a variety of jurisdictions, including arbitration under ICC and DIAC Rules.
Her recent experience includes:
■ completing suites of construction documentation (including pre-construction services agreement, building contract, bonds, warranties, professional team appointments) across a portfolio of projects for a senior living sector client
■ acting for a national retirement village operator in relation to the construction due diligence for multi-million pound refinancing of a project
■ assisting a London transport authority with developing a new framework for station improvement works
■ advising on claims against the professional team and contractor in relation to defective works at a listed building
■ advising on the construction due diligence requirements for the £30m sale of a group of companies in the business of acquiring and renovating properties
■ acting for a specialist defence subcontractor in relation to a claim for AED350m under DIAC rules in UAE, including coordination with related sub-subcontractor claims in Paris
■ acting for a specialist systems subcontractor in relation to a US$4.5million claim under ICC Rules in UAE
