Sarah is a Senior Associate in our Employment, Labor and Pensions practice group.

She specializes in contentious and non-contentious employment law and acts for a wide range of national and international clients.

Sarah has worked as a dedicated employment lawyer in Eversheds Sutherland’s Employment, Labour and Pension practice group since qualifying in 2007. She specializes in both contentious and non-contentious employment law.

Sarah has extensive experience in employment litigation, representing businesses and organizations from the initial stages right through to the tribunal hearing. She has acted for clients regarding a variety of discrimination claims, including age, sex, race, pregnancy/maternity and disability discrimination, as well as claims concerning breach of contract, TUPE, agency worker rights and whistleblowing, plus unfair dismissal claims arising from redundancy, performance, ill-health and conduct related matters. Sarah has also successfully represented clients in Judicial Mediation, helping them resolve litigious disputes.

Regarding non-contentious areas of work, Sarah is a “go to” person when it comes to advising on apprenticeship-related matters, the levy and apprenticeship funding. She also regularly advises clients to draft contracts and policies, reorganizations/redundancy programs, severances, and settlement agreements. A large part of Sarah’s role involves helping clients with everyday employment law-related queries — from maternity and family-friendly matters to disciplinary and grievance procedures, performance management, sickness and absence management, working time, national minimum wage issues, discrimination, TUPE, changing terms and conditions, and contractual status.
Due to the nature of her work, Sarah works for clients across a number of sectors. She has solid experience in the technology and telecoms sectors, industrials and retail/consumer sectors. Sarah routinely delivers bespoke training to clients and also speaks at the firm’s public training courses.

Over her career, Sarah has presented and delivered training at various public and bespoke client training events.

Sarah enjoys traveling, spending time with her family (including playing lots of board games!), walking and volunteering in the community as a beaver scout leader in her spare time.

Sarah's recent experience includes:

  • running all people-related aspects of a site closure project for a medical equipment manufacturer, involving partial relocation and TUPE
  • successfully arguing a claimant was not disabled and getting all claims struck out against the property maintenance employer
