Practice notes

Leyla is a senior associate in our corporate and M&A group and acts on a wide variety of transactions with an emphasis on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and joint ventures. She also provides general corporate and corporate governance advice to clients in a broad range of industries including agriculture, diversified industrials, construction, hospitality and retail. Leyla has worked in the area of international arbitration and dispute management on corporate and commercial issues.

In addition, she is a frequent speaker at Business Brunch series of events held by Eversheds Sutherland Russian offices.

Leyla has obtained a law degree from Saint Petersburg State University. Prior to her graduation, she spent a semester studying international and comparative law at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Her experience includes:

  • advised automotive components manufacturer with the complex acquisition and reorganization of its operations in Russia
  • provided legal advice to global specialty chemical, ingredient, and solutions provider during its recent acquisition, total transaction value more than USD 1 Billion
  • assisted multinational vehicle manufacturer during its exit from the Russian market;
  • advised manufacturer of explosion protection products on a joint venture with Russian partner
  • assisted multinational engineering company with the Russian segment of the sale of its marine business, total transaction value GBP 500 Million
  • provided legal advice to a global leader in smart technologies and complete lifecycle solutions for the marine and energy markets on the acquisition of a global company specializing in marine navigation solutions, total transaction value of EUR 210 Million (legal due diligence/antimonopoly clearance)
  • assisted a leading provider of technology and infrastructure for the energy industry with Russia-related matters, total transaction value of USD 6 Billion (antimonopoly clearance/share transfer)
  • advised a multinational company manufacturing medical devices, pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods on implementation of a global outsourcing agreement in Russia (contract review)
  • assisted global technology company designing and manufacturing connectivity and sensor products for harsh environments with Russian part of multinational business acquisition (corporate)
  • provided legal advice to a major Russian meat producer and processor with acquisition of a regional market leader (legal due diligence/contract drafting/negotiations/share transfer)
