Practice notes

Oxana Peters is a partner in our Litigation and Dispute Management practice group based in Moscow. Her practice encompasses a broad range of litigation for national and global clients, which in recent years has included commercial, construction, corporate, tax, and securities litigation, and arbitration (both domestic and international), including recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards.

Oxana has been recommended by The Legal 500, Chambers and Partners, and Best Lawyers for her work in dispute resolution since 2009. She is a “top-ranked” Russian attorney-at-law with over 20 years' experience and “exceptional litigation and arbitration expertise.”

Some of Oxana's most recent engagements include:

  • securing a defence victory for a German media conglomerate in a commercial dispute under a false supply contract, where the receivables were allegedly sold to a factoring company
  • represented a Russian subsidiary of a large European retailer of consumer electronics in commercial disputes against landlords
  • defended executives of a multinational investment company in administrative and criminal proceedings, as well as in parallel shareholder litigation
  • represented a London-based sports event organizer with respect to recognition and enforcement of a High Court of Justice judgement issued against a Russian athlete
  • defended large American and Russian companies focusing on supply of banking equipment, construction and pharmacology in numerous tax litigations
  • won a case for a major Russian bank against a mala fide creditor in relation to security and settlement agreements
  • represented a Russian investment company in a dispute regarding securities
  • successfully defended a large Moscow-based brokerage firm against its mala fide clients

Oxana has held different positions as Deputy Head and Head of the Dispute Resolution Group of the Legal Committee of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce. She is an active arbitrator at the arbitration centres of the Russian Arbitration Association and Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and a member of the ICC Russia Commission on International Arbitration. She also took part in the INCOTERMS 2020 drafting group.
