Fabian Schöniger is a Senior Associate in the Human Resources practice group at Eversheds Sutherland in Hamburg.

As a certified lawyer in labor and employment law, Fabian advises German and international companies in all areas of individual and collective employment law, including pension matters. His field of activities comprises the representation of clients in labor and employment litigations as well as (permanent) advice.

Fabian was educated at the University of Heidelberg a focus on employment and corporate law, with practical trainings in leading law firms in Paris (France) and Frankfurt. Subsequently, he worked for a major law firm in Toronto (Canada) and advised companies in the energy sector on international labor law. During his legal traineeship in the district of Higher Regional Court of Celle, he worked for a law firm based in Hamburg, advising clients on labor law matters, and for the German Embassy in Oslo (Norway). In 2018, Fabian was seconded to the legal department of a globally leading technology company. 

Recent experience includes (ongoing) labor law advice and representation for several S&P-100 and Nikkei-225 companies.

Fabian’s recent experience includes:

  • advising and representing a globally leading technology company on day to day employment and labor matters for several years, in particular on various works agreements and works council negotiation, on templates for employment and managing directors’ service agreements, on implementation of new remuneration schemes and employee benefits programs, on service and works agreements and third personnel use and labor leasing, on ongoing compliance matters and risk assessments, on personnel data matters, on competition law matters such as on post-contractual non-solicitation/non-competition agreements and the protection of trade and business secrets;
  • advising a leading Japanese electronics company on third personal use;
  • advising a globally leading retail company on day to day employment and labor matters, in particular on individual disciplinary measures and co-determination matters;
  • advising the national subsidiary of a globally leading oil company in particular on issues related to works councils and co-determination matters as well as various employment litigation cases;
  • advising a major Japanese automotive company on the implementation of IT software and works council negotiations
