Practice notes

Kennedy is a practitioner of the Corporate group whose principle practice areas span mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, inbound and outbound joint ventures and foreign investments, corporate restructuring, post-merger integration and organisation, corporate finance, general corporate and regulatory compliance (including routine day-to-day legal and regulatory compliance) and business consultancy.

Kennedy equates his clients’ success to his own. Fully proficient in spoken and written English and Mandarin (including Business Mandarin), professionally conversant in Min Chinese, Cantonese, Bahasa Indonesia and Thai, he has served stakeholders from Singapore, Greater China, Japan, Myanmar, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, the US, the UK, Europe, and other Southeast Asia/Asia-Pacific and international jurisdictions keen to develop a myriad of business, investment and commercial relations. Where required, he manages cross-border and transnational projects, with an effective ability to work alongside contemporaries and professionals from any jurisdiction.

Armed with requisite social and cultural awareness, a keen eye for technical detail and an open mind, Kennedy is highly resourceful and seeks continually to add value, regardless of industry, jurisdiction, or geographical forum. Clients have entrusted him to advise on deal negotiations, and to provide strategic commercial advice, stemming from his practice, his experience in the teaching committee of the Singapore Bar Examinations for legal negotiations, and his training as an accredited mediator. Kennedy has negotiated on behalf of government/regulatory bodies, PRC listed companies and multi-national companies.

Kennedy read law at the National University of Singapore. He then trained in and practised at a top Singapore law firm and thereafter at a large leading US firm. Drawing from such collective past, present and ongoing cumulative experience and exposure, Kennedy only brings to the table consistent and practical, client-centric solutions to adequately and fruitfully address legal and commercial realities. He is an astute provider of solutions, an all-round problem solver, and someone to speak to before concretizing any business or commercial endeavour.
