Practice notes

Wei Cheang is a Senior Associate in the International Arbitration Group in Singapore.

He handles a range of commercial and corporate disputes as well as contractual claims. His experience includes assisting with an application for an ex-parte injunction against an international oil and gas company to restrain the dilution of a minority shareholder’s shares.

Wei Cheang has experience handling arbitration work. He was part of the team that successfully challenged the Arbitral Tribunal’s jurisdiction at the High Court in an arbitration case involving a US$13.4 million contractual dispute between international parties.  

He has provided legal retainer services to a multinational group of companies involved in the marine, petrochemical and oil and gas industries. His experience includes providing legal advice on the resolution of payment disputes, as well as the review of legal documents and contracts. 

He has also handled criminal law matters ranging from road traffic accidents involving deaths to white collar crime under the Securities and Futures Act. 

Wei Cheang was awarded the RW Stead Junior Legal Scholarship from The University of Manchester in 2012 and was called to the Singapore Bar in 2016.
