Sarah helps clients with information law matters, finding practical solutions to compliance concerns.
Sarah is an Associate on our Privacy, Cybersecurity and Information Law team. She provides advice on data protection and freedom of information matters.
Sarah regularly works on complex subject access requests assisting clients with high-profile and complex cases.
Sarah also advises on security incidents and ICO investigations.
A large part of Sarah's work is assisting clients with their general privacy compliance, including auditing and reviewing including international transfer documentation, drafting practical privacy notices, considering cookies notices, reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
Sarah enjoys providing training and has supported in-house teams with their approaches to data protection terms in contracts.
She advises on the Freedom of Information Act 2000, advising clients on exemptions, refusals, internal reviews and dealing with ICO investigations.
Sarah has particular experience in the education sector for higher education providers and academy trusts and also works closely with the firm's consumer facing brands.
Before qualifying as a Solicitor Sarah was a Project Manager in the Education Sector (Prince2 qualified), delivering compliance projects across the UK.
In her spare time she swims with an outdoor swimming club and fosters dogs who are yet to find a permanent home.
Sarah's recent experience includes:
- acting on many complex data subject access requests, including for high-profile requesters, senior employees and those engaged in concurrent litigation
- advising on the data protection provisions for a complex multi-party public sector framework agreement relating to highly sensitive personal data
- supporting well-known consumer businesses with their data protection concerns:
- providing advice on contracts, international transfers
- providing training and support to their in-house teams
- Providing training to a wide range of clients and their respective in-house teams
- Member of Eversheds Sutherland's diversity and inclusion network
- Took part in the firm's first "Hackathon" event reaching the finals with the Cookie Monster team
