Practice notes

Dr. Stephan von Marschall is an experienced litigator, and specialises in complex international disputes and arbitration tribunals. Stephan’s arbitration experience includes representing clients both in ad-hoc claims and pursuant to the regulations of arbitration institutions such as DIS and ICC. He is particularly experienced in corporate disputes, including post-M&A disputes amongst shareholders, in addition to disputes resulting from purchase and supply relationships, and in the area of plant construction. Stephan also represents clients in cross-border transactions between Germany and France. Before joining Eversheds Sutherland, Stephan was as salary partner in Taylor Wessing’s Hamburg office.

Dr. Stephan von Marschall is a member of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), the initiative of young arbitrators of the German Arbitration Institute (DIS 40) as well as of the ICC Young Arbitrators Forum (YAF).

Dr. Stephan von Marschall studied law in the German French master's degree program at the University of Cologne and Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne). He holds a Maîtrise en Droit as well as a LL.M. afterwards, he studied law at the University of Münster. After his first state examination he wrote his dissertation at the University of Cologne and completed his professional training at Hamburg Higher Regional Court. During his legal training he worked at the German Chamber of Foreign Trade in Paris, Taylor Wessing’s Hamburg office as well as at a law firm in Sydney, Australia. After his second state examination he started his professional career at Taylor Wessing, where he was a salary partner in the Hamburg office before joining Eversheds Sutherland.
