Martin is a mergers & acquisitions law partner who focuses on the financial services sector, in particular insurance. Martin also advises on commercial and regulatory matters.
A mergers & acquisitions partner within Eversheds Sutherland’s Company Commercial Group, martin advises clients in the financial services sector, in particular insurance.
Martin also advises on reorganisations, joint ventures, start-ups, commercial, and regulatory matters, as well as insurance products (including W&I and credit insurance).
Martin also advises a number of Nordic clients across a range of sectors.
In his spare time, Martin enjoys spending time with his family, coaching football, long walks, and watching Liverpool FC.
Over his career, Martin has presented at various public and client conferences and events across the world. Martin has also published a number of articles in newspapers, trade publications, social media, and been interviewed on television.
Martin has acted on a number of major transactions for clients over the years including:
- advising on numerous M&A deals, for both sellers and buyers, including in the run-off sector
- advising on numerous renewal rights deals
- advising on Part VII transfers
- advising on numerous intra-group restructuring across multiple jurisdictions
- advising on corporate and commercial joint venture arrangements / strategic alliances
- advising on a change of control application on the largest P&C deal to date
- advising on the overhaul of a client’s corporate governance framework following a s166 regulatory enquiry
- advising brokers, insurers, retailers and others on various distribution and other commercial arrangements
- advising on various start-ups
- advising a number of the leading W&I insurers/MGAs as well as also assisting corporate and other clients on their purchase of W&I and other insurance
- Martin is a member of the City of London Law Tech Sounding Board
- Martin is also a qualified mental health first aider
